As obvious as this truism may seem—it’s not taught in many college writing classes. Instead, those classes tell you to follow Aristotle’s advice to use logic, emotion, and your authority to write persuasively—whatever all that means. Why do they do that? Because those writing teachers have never studied advertising writing—where the art of persuasive writing was developed and mastered a long, long time ago.
